102cm x 146cm Exercise during COVID-19 lockdown: walk over a small bridge then onto an expanse of beach. The creek attracts my attention - yellow drifts of sand left from a full tide. This is it!
Mixed Media (acrylic/graphite/lino print)
3 x A3 Canson Canvas Sheets sheets (53cm x 110cm)
This work commenced with sketching beach rocks on a painted blue background. Graphite was used for definition, then an overlay of lino print. (The print resembling sand ripples left by a retreating tide). When viewed upside down, I realised I had sailing vessels, giving rise to the title Ship to Shore.
Acrylic on Arches Paper
95cm x 80cm
My son Hugh walked the Camino de Santiago Spain, in 2017. Several paintings were completed at that time. Thanks to the Covid lockdown, this one is now completed albeit a little late!

A grainy dull day. Another beach walk during the Covid lockdown. Seabirds scavenge above the edges of the low tide. I walk by and they take flight, shattering my thoughts to once again engage in the moment.
